Harvia lighting is a range of lighting solutions from the Finnish sauna technology manufacturer Harvia, designed for both sauna interiors and exteriors. It includes light strips, spotlights and fibre-optic sets that are installed into the ceiling, benches or around the cabin door. The products are designed to operate at the high temperature and humidity of a Finnish sauna, an environment different from standard interior lighting. Harvia also offers solutions compatible with its own control units, where lighting is operated together with heating and ventilation from a single control panel or app. The brand is an established sauna technology manufacturer with a long history in Finland.
Lighting in a sauna is handled differently from an ordinary interior, because the light fitting has to withstand high temperature and moisture and at the same time must not dazzle. In practice three approaches are used, and they can be combined.

The temperature at the ceiling of a Finnish sauna is well above what ordinary interior LED strips and their power supplies are rated for. The critical point is usually not the diode itself, but the electronics and the adhesive. Solutions intended for saunas either use components rated for these temperatures, or work with optical fibres, where the light source sits outside the cabin. In both cases the power supply is fitted outside the hot space.
