Incoloy® 800/825

Incoloy® 800 and Incoloy® 825 are high-performance nickel-iron-chromium alloys engineered for extreme temperature and corrosive conditions. They are used as the material for heating elements in electric heaters for hot tubs, bathing water, and wellness systems. Their high nickel and chromium content gives them exceptional resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and chemical damage caused by disinfectants or unbalanced pH. The material retains its mechanical strength and stability even under prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Unlike standard stainless steel, it does not undergo rapid surface degradation. Incoloy is therefore the standard in professional and premium heating systems.

Advantages of Incoloy

  • Significantly longer heating element service life: Corrosion resistance means fewer faults and lower costs for heater replacement.
  • Stable performance even in demanding water conditions: The material withstands chlorine, ozone, and pH fluctuation without significant degradation.
  • Lower service costs over the product’s service life: Fewer technician call-outs and a lower risk of failure during operation.
  • Higher operational reliability: A critical wellness system component carries a lower risk of sudden failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard stainless steel can corrode over time in chemically treated water. Incoloy has a higher nickel and chromium content, which dramatically increases corrosion resistance.

Incoloy 825 additionally contains molybdenum and copper, which improves resistance to aggressive chemical environments. Both are highly resistant for wellness applications; 825 is even more robust.

Not directly. Heating speed depends on the heater's power output (kW), not the material. Incoloy does, however, ensure long-term performance stability.

No. Extremely incorrect pH or long-term neglect of maintenance can damage any material. Incoloy, however, significantly reduces the risk.

A real benefit. It is a material also used in the chemical and energy industries, not only in wellness products.

No. It is an inert material that does not release substances into the water under correct operation.

Yes, the upfront cost is higher than with cheap materials. However, the longer service life usually means lower total operating costs.
