Abachi (African Willow)

Abachi is an exotic tropical wood originating from West and Central Africa, most commonly from the tree species Triplochiton scleroxylon. In saunas, it is used mainly for benches, backrests, headrests and other contact elements of the interior. It is characterised by very low density and minimal thermal conductivity, which means it does not overheat even at extreme temperatures. The wood surface is smooth, free of resin and has minimal knot occurrence, which increases both comfort and safety. Abachi does not significantly change shape even through repeated heating and cooling cycles. It is one of the most widely used materials in professional saunas, precisely because of its physical properties, not only its appearance.
