PAROC 5 Insulation (Wall Mineral Wool)

PAROC 5 is a 50 mm stone (mineral) wool insulation used mainly for wall cladding in sauna and wellness cabin construction. The material is produced by melting basalt and other mineral raw materials at high temperature and spinning the melt into insulating fibre boards. The fibrous structure traps air in small pockets, which limits heat transfer through the wall assembly. Stone wool is also non-combustible and withstands direct contact with high temperature without losing its insulating properties, a key requirement for sauna walls. A thickness of 50 mm represents a balance between insulating performance and wall build-up, where space is less constrained than at the roof.

• Class A1 non-combustibility: Stone wool contains no combustible binder in a quantity that would compromise fire safety, essential in a sauna structure with a high operating temperature.
• Resistance to moisture and mould: Mineral fibres do not absorb water and provide no growth medium for microorganisms when installed correctly with a vapour barrier.
• Acoustic damping: The fibrous structure also reduces sound transmission between the cabin structure and the surrounding space.
