Thermal Cover (Hot Tub Insulating Cover)

A thermal cover is an insulating hot tub cover that closes over the water surface when the hot tub is not in use. Its main function is to limit heat loss and slow water evaporation, reducing the energy needed to maintain the set temperature. The cover typically consists of a rigid closed-cell foam core wrapped in a durable film, such as Marine Grade Vinyl, which withstands UV exposure and moisture. A folding design with a reinforced centre hinge allows easy opening even on larger hot tubs. In terms of running costs, a quality thermal cover is one of the fastest components to pay for itself, since most of a hot tub’s heat loss occurs through the open water surface.
