A hot tub is a free-standing soaking tub with its own heating — a wood-burning stove or an electric heater — so it needs no pool technology. The whirlpool, meaning the hydromassage, is something you add as you wish. Delivery, installation and commissioning are included for Slovakia, Czechia and Hungary.

A hot tub with hydromassage, or without

Hydromassage is optional: a whirlpool tub is the same tub fitted with a hydromassage system; without it the tub stays a still, hot bath. The pump pushes water into jets set around the perimeter, so the higher the output, the more jets and the stronger the stream. How hydrotherapy works in physical terms is explained in a separate entry.

System Jets Extra
1.1 kW 8 €340
1.5 kW 10 €453
2.0 kW 12 €544

How the tub is heated

A wood-burning stove is independent of any electrical supply and heats the water in 2 to 4 hours depending on volume. An integrated stove stands inside the tub, heats faster and takes up less room in the garden; an external stove stands outside the tub, leaves the whole interior free and is easier to replace. A 3 kW electric heater plugs into an ordinary 220 V socket; the stronger 6 and 9 kW versions need 380 V. Versions in AISI 316 steel are intended for chemically treated water — the molybdenum in the alloy resists chlorides.

Heating Extra Who it suits
External stove AISI 304 / 316 €566 / €623 maximum room in the tub, easy replacement
Integrated stove AISI 304 / 316 €736 / €827 faster warm-up, more compact installation
Integrated Horizon stove AISI 304 / 316 €998 / €1,118 horizontal design, lower silhouette
Electric heater 3 kW (220 V) €340 an ordinary socket, no stoking
Electric heater 6 / 9 kW (380 V) €934 / €1,200 large volumes and year-round tempering

Material of the tub and the cladding

The tub is made of acrylic (non-porous, UV-stable, a smooth surface), fibreglass or stainless steel. The colour of the tub is free of charge: white, cream, light blue, dark blue and grey. The outer cladding comes in spruce at the base price; for an extra charge you can choose thermowood (+€170), WPC composite (+€114) or charred timber (+€227).

Volume and number of people

What decides is the volume of water, not the footprint — a two-person ofuro holds 750 litres, the largest square models 2,100. The usual tub depth is 88 to 95 cm.

Model Capacity Volume Price from
Nordic Onsen — ofuro 120×205 cm 2 people 750 l €1,421
Arctic Ritual — Ø 200 / 225 cm 5–8 people 1,100–1,500 l €2,599
Nordic Halo — Ø 200 / 225 cm 6–9 people 1,400–1,700 l €1,591
Nordic Basin — 202×202 cm 8 people 1,600–1,700 l €1,874
Arctic Chrome — Ø 220 cm 6–7 people 1,700 l €5,199

The category also includes single-person tubs without heating, meant for a cold bath after the sauna. Which type suits whom is covered by the comparison of a heated and a cold plunge tub.

The price of a hot tub and what it covers

Prices including VAT start at €1,292 and the highest is the stainless steel model — €5,199. The stove, the hydromassage and the thermal cover are separate items, so the price depends on the configuration: the configurator totals it up instantly. Running costs for your model and your energy prices are worked out by the calculator.

The price of every tub includes insulation, delivery to the place of destination in Slovakia, Czechia and Hungary, installation and commissioning, a 2-year warranty and our 4-year service. Lead time is 4 to 8 weeks from payment of the deposit. As add-ons you can take a thermal cover (€283 / €340 by diameter), 1 to 4 underwater LEDs (€57 to €204), LED lighting around the tub (€204), a sand filter with a box, a UV lamp, steps or a drink holder.

Configure your tub

Size, cladding, tub colour, stove, hydromassage and accessories come together in the configurator and you see the price at once. If you are deciding between a tub and a sauna, the comparison of an outdoor sauna and a hot tub helps; the whole sauna range is in the Finnish saunas category.

Health and physiological benefits of hydrotherapy

What warm water, buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure do to the body. Every figure on the cards comes from a published study — the source list is below the cards.

Buoyancy and joint relief

In water the body carries only a fraction of its own weight. With the water at sternum level, 25 to 37 % of body weight rests on the legs, so the spine and the large weight-bearing joints are relieved during the bath.

Load on the legs in water−65 to −75 %

Hydrostatic pressure

Water presses on the body around its whole circumference and the pressure rises with depth by about 0.74 mmHg per centimetre — in a tub 88 to 95 cm deep that is comparable to a compression stocking on the lower limbs. After 30 minutes in water, subcutaneous thickness fell by 24 %.

Subcutaneous thickness−24 % / 30 min

The heart and central blood volume

Immersed to the chest, roughly 0.7 litres of blood shifts into the thorax. Stroke volume rises by about a third, cardiac output by 32 % and systemic vascular resistance falls by 30 %. This is the effect of hydrostatic pressure, not of the temperature itself.

Stroke volume+35 %

Targeted hydromassage

Jets with adjustable air intake push water against the back, shoulders and legs. What matters is pump output, not just the number of jets — a stronger pump means higher pressure in each one.

Systems available8 – 12 jets

A warm bath and falling asleep

The best-researched effect of warm water is on sleep: a bath at 40 to 42.5 °C one to two hours before bed shortens sleep onset and improves subjective sleep quality. The mechanism is the drop in core temperature after the bath, not the bath itself.

Timing before bed1 – 2 h

Contrast thermotherapy

A cold plunge tub is for the cold bath after a sauna. Cold triggers vasoconstriction and a release of noradrenaline — during an hour-long immersion in 14 °C water its plasma level rose by 530 %. A short plunge gives a smaller response of the same kind.

Noradrenaline at 14 °C+530 %

The figures are group averages from the protocols of the studies listed, not a promise for an individual. Most measurements were made with immersion to the neck or the sternum — seated in a tub the response is smaller. A warm bath is not a treatment. With unstable heart disease, during pregnancy, with an acute infection or after alcohol, talk to your doctor first; never leave children in a tub unattended.

How to choose a hot tub: a technical guide

Six areas that decide how much work the tub takes to run and how long it will last.

Design principle

A hot tub is not an inflatable garden spa. It needs a level load-bearing base, a water outlet and access to the equipment. We measure the exact figures on site.

The material of the tub decides what water treatment it tolerates and how it is cleaned. The water volume decides the heating time and the running cost.

What the tub can be made of

The first decision, and it affects everything else — from chemicals to service life.

Tub materialTolerates chemicalsMaintenanceWhen to choose it
Stainless steelyes, including salteasiest, smooth surfaceYear-round use and frequent bathing
Acrylicyes, ordinary dosesundemandingThe most common choice, good value for money
FibreglassmoderatelyundemandingSmaller tubs and a lower budget
Timber (spruce)chlorine-free onlyneeds regular careA natural look, occasional bathing
Stove versions in AISI 316 steel are intended for chemically treated water — the molybdenum in the alloy resists chlorides. AISI 304 is sufficient for ordinary water.
Tub colour and liner type

The colour of the tub is free of charge. The pearl finish is the only paid variant.

No extra costWhite, cream, light blue, dark blue and grey tubs.
Standard tubA smooth, uniform surface, the easiest to clean.
Pearl tubDeep lustre with a fine shimmer. €114 extra.
Dark or lightA dark tub visually reduces the volume of water, a light one emphasises it.
Size, shape and volume

What matters is the volume of water, not the footprint. For a six-person tub expect a longer warm-up and higher consumption.

ShapeVolumeCapacityWho it suits
Ofuro 120×205 cm750 l2 peopleA couple, smallest footprint and fastest heating
Round Ø 200 – 225 cm1,100 – 1,700 l5 – 9 peopleThe classic, people sit facing each other
Square 202×202 cm1,600 – 2,100 l8 peopleFits better against a wall or into a terrace corner
Cold plungeby model1 – 2 peopleNo stove, for contrast after the sauna
On round models the size is chosen in the configuration: Ø 1.8 m internal, or Ø 2.0 m for €340 extra. The usual tub depth is 88 to 95 cm.
