Outdoor hot tub with acrylic liner and external heater

Nordic Forge is an outdoor hot tub with square construction and an external heater, designed for year-round operation in exterior conditions. Dimensions of 220 × 220 cm and a capacity of 6 persons (5 seated positions, 1 reclined position) allow use within private wellness zones at residential and recreational properties.

A water volume of 1,500–1,900 litres, a depth of 95 cm and an overall height of 105 cm define the operational parameters of the tub.

Construction and material solution

The interior is formed by an acrylic liner available in four colour variants — white, grey, white marble imitation or brown marble imitation. The acrylic surface ensures resistance to chemical and mechanical stress and simplifies maintenance.

The base is made of impregnated and painted wood, ensuring construction stability during long-term contact with moisture in exterior conditions. Water drainage is provided by a 1″ valve.

Exterior cladding

The exterior cladding of the tub is available in five material variants — spruce wood, thermowood, thermo tripple, WPC plastic or burnt wood. The cladding selection allows material unification with other exterior elements without compromising construction parameters.

Thermal dynamics

The external heater brings the full water volume to operating temperature within a 3–4 hour interval. Separation of the heating system from the tub construction simplifies servicing and allows independent maintenance of the heating unit.

Custom hot tub for various exterior environments

Nordic Forge is a custom hot tub designed as part of long-term exterior wellness infrastructure. The combination of the acrylic liner, wooden construction elements and external heater creates a functional unit for systematic regeneration through thermal hydrotherapy.

The model is intended for clients seeking an outdoor hot tub with an external heater, stable construction and an emphasis on long-term operation.

Technology and materials

Filter Balls / Polysphere

Filter Balls, also known as Polysphere, are a modern filter medium made from high-density synthetic polymer fibres with a fine microstructure. They are used as a replacement for traditional silica sand in the filtration systems of hot tubs, pools and cooling tubs. They work on the principle of mechanical filtration, where the fibrous structure traps […]

Ofuro (Japanese Bath)

Ofuro is a traditional Japanese bathing barrel or deep tub intended for calm immersion of the body in hot water, primarily for relaxation and recovery rather than washing. Unlike a standard bathtub, ofuro is deeper and shorter, allowing an upright seated position with the body fully immersed up to the shoulders. It is traditionally made […]

Chromotherapy (LED Lighting)

Chromotherapy is a technology that uses coloured LED lighting to influence the user’s psychological and physiological state during wellness procedures. In hot tubs, saunas, and cooling tubs, LED lights are integrated directly into the structure, most often below the waterline or within the cabin interior. Modern systems use energy-efficient RGB LED diodes that allow colour, […]

Hydrotherapy (Water Therapy)

Hydrotherapy is a therapeutic method that uses water, its temperature, pressure, and movement to support the body’s recovery and release muscle tension. In hot tubs and wellness systems, it is delivered through a combination of heated water and massage jets that create targeted streams of water and air. These streams stimulate the muscles, improve blood […]

Acrylic (PMMA – Polymethyl Methacrylate)

Acrylic is a synthetic polymer known as PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), used as the primary surface material for the shell of hot tubs, tubs and wellness equipment. It is a solid, non-porous and UV-stable plastic that can be thermoformed into ergonomic shapes. In hot tub construction, it forms the outer layer that is in direct contact […]

UV-C Sterilisation

UV-C sterilisation is a physical water disinfection method using ultraviolet radiation at a wavelength of approximately 254 nm. Water in a sauna, hot tub, or cooling tub flows through a sealed chamber containing a quartz sleeve housing a UV-C lamp. The radiation disrupts the DNA and RNA of microorganisms, preventing further reproduction. It is neither […]

Ozone Generator (O3 Generator)

An ozone generator produces ozone (O₃) from ambient air using corona discharge or UV radiation technology. In hot tubs, cooling tubs, and small pools, ozone injected through a Venturi injector dissolves in the water, where it acts as a strong oxidising agent. Ozone reacts with bacteria, viruses, moulds, and organic contaminants, breaking them down chemically. […]

Aristech Acrylics® (USA)

Aristech Acrylics® is a US manufacturer of premium acrylic sheets used to produce shells for hot tubs, pools and wellness equipment. The material is continuously cast acrylic (PMMA – polymethyl methacrylate), characterised by high density, non-porosity and a homogeneous structure. It forms the interior surface of the hot tub, which is in direct contact with […]

Thermo Wood

ThermoWood is timber modified through a controlled thermal process at temperatures of approximately 160–215 °C in an oxygen-free environment, without the use of chemicals. The treatment reduces moisture content and breaks down part of the hemicelluloses, which substantially improves the material’s dimensional stability. The wood becomes more resistant to rot, mould and biological pests. It […]

Incoloy® 800/825

Incoloy® 800 and Incoloy® 825 are high-performance nickel-iron-chromium alloys engineered for extreme temperature and corrosive conditions. They are used as the material for heating elements in electric heaters for hot tubs, bathing water, and wellness systems. Their high nickel and chromium content gives them exceptional resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and chemical damage caused by disinfectants […]

WiFi Module & Smart Control

The WiFi module & smart control is a communication hardware accessory that connects a hot tub, sauna, or cooling tub’s control pack to a home WiFi network and a mobile app. The module acts as a bridge between the device’s local electronics and a cloud-based or local control interface. The user can remotely monitor system […]

Chiller (Active Water Cooling)

A chiller is a device designed for active water cooling using a compressor-based refrigeration circuit, similar in principle to a heat pump or air conditioning unit. In a wellness context, it is used for cooling tubs, cold plunge pools or combined hot and cold systems. Water circulates through a heat exchanger (often titanium, for its […]

Balboa Water Group® (USA)

Balboa Water Group® is an established American manufacturer of electronic control systems and components for hot tubs, spa systems, and wellness equipment. Their products include control packs, control panels, heaters, sensors, and communication modules that manage all key hot tub functions. The control pack functions as the system’s “brain” – it manages water temperature, filtration, […]

Thermal Cover (Hot Tub Insulating Cover)

A thermal cover is an insulating hot tub cover that closes over the water surface when the hot tub is not in use. Its main function is to limit heat loss and slow water evaporation, reducing the energy needed to maintain the set temperature. The cover typically consists of a rigid closed-cell foam core wrapped […]

Heat Pump (Hot Tub Heating)

A heat pump is a hot tub water heating device that, instead of converting electrical energy directly into heat, transfers heat from the surrounding air into the water through a refrigeration circuit. The principle is the reverse of a chiller used for cooling. The same technology extracts heat from outdoor air even at low temperatures. […]

Siberian Larch (Decking Boards)

Siberian larch is a coniferous species with high density and natural resin content, used outdoors primarily for decking boards under pergolas and around saunas and hot tubs. Slow growth in a cold climate produces a dense, finely structured wood grain with higher mechanical strength than common Central European conifers. High resin content acts as a […]

RGB Lighting (Wellness Technology)

RGB lighting is a colour LED lighting technology based on combining three primary colour diodes, red, green and blue, which mix to produce a wide spectrum of colours and shades. In hot tubs, saunas and cooling tubs, RGB diodes are integrated into the structure, most often below the waterline, into benches, or into the cabin […]
