A Finnish sauna works with dry, hot air. The sauna stove heats the stones, they radiate heat through the whole cabin, and pouring water over them creates a short wave of steam — löyly. The temperature stays between 80 and 100 °C at humidity under 20 %; it is that low humidity which makes such heat bearable.
The models in this category are free-standing structures with their own roof and shell, so they are not tied to a single use. They serve equally well as a home sauna at a family house, in a cabin let to guests, in a guesthouse, in accommodation facilities and in a wellness operation open to the public. Capacity is 4 to 8 people depending on the model and layout: smaller cabins without an entrance hall, larger ones with an entrance hall, a covered terrace or a shower zone. The smallest model, Nordic Box, has a 200×244 cm footprint; the largest, Aurora Grand, 300×700 cm.
The Finnish saunas in the range differ in the shape of the structure — that decides how much space the sauna takes and what fits into it besides the cabin.

A wooden sauna in spruce comes at the base price and has a light, natural shade. Thermowood is heat-treated timber that holds its dimensions better under sharp swings of temperature and humidity, and has a darker, warmer tone — with year-round use that is a difference you see after some years.
Benches and interior cladding use lime, aspen or abachi — timbers with low thermal conductivity that do not burn to the touch at 90 °C.
An electric stove at 8 or 9 kW is run by thermostat and timer, so the sauna is hot at the time you set — it does need a 400 V supply. A wood-burning stove up to 22 kW needs no power supply and gives stronger löyly, but it has to be stoked and it needs a chimney. Both are available on almost every model — you pick them in the configuration, not by choosing a different product.
Wall thickness is 42 to 200 mm depending on the model; roof and floor carry 100 mm of mineral wool. The interior lining is a Tatra profile, the outer shell sits on 12 mm OSB board. Roofing is supplied as asphalt shingle, torch-on bitumen or sheet metal; doors and glazing are toughened glass 6 and 8 mm thick. Benches are single-tier or two-tier depending on the model.
Prices including VAT start at €4,653 for a four-person sauna and reach €36,321 for the largest set with an entrance hall and terrace. Saunas are sold directly from this category: confirm the configuration in the configurator or through an enquiry, then a deposit follows and delivery in 4 to 12 weeks. What happens in the body during a sauna session and after it. Every figure on the cards comes from a published study — the source list is below the cards.
Heat dilates the peripheral vessels and the body redirects blood to the skin: instead of 5 to 10 %, it takes 50 to 70 % of the flow. Cardiac output rises by 60 to 70 %, almost entirely through a faster pulse — 120 to 150 beats per minute.
After hard training the effect shows up mainly in mobility: in a controlled trial the sauna group had 15 to 26 degrees more passive range of motion on day two than the control group. Faster lactate clearance is not confirmed by the studies.
Two rounds at 90 °C draw 0.3 to 0.5 kg of sweat — which is why you drink before and after. Regular sauna use is associated with a more stable skin barrier, higher stratum corneum hydration and faster recovery of skin pH.
Induced hyperthermia triggers the synthesis of heat shock proteins: serum HSP70 rose by 144 % in trained and by 271 % in untrained men after a first sauna bath. White blood cell counts rose by 7 to 14 % in a further study.
The best documented effect of heat on sleep is the drop in core temperature after cooling — it shortens sleep onset if you leave one to two hours between the sauna and bed. Deeper sleep stages have never been measured after a Finnish sauna; 83.5 % of sauna users in a global survey do report better sleep.
During cool-down, heart rate variability shifts towards parasympathetic dominance: the low-frequency band falls and the high-frequency band rises. Resting pulse at the end of recovery was 68 beats per minute against 77 before the sauna.
The figures are group averages from the protocols of the studies listed (most often 30 minutes at 73 °C or 15 minutes at 90 – 96 °C), not a promise for an individual. Sauna bathing is not a treatment. With unstable heart disease, an acute infection, during pregnancy or after alcohol, talk to your doctor first.

What surrounds the cabin decides whether the sauna stays usable in frost.
The choice of timber affects thermal capacity, hygiene and how the sauna survives years outdoors. We select structures made of kiln-dried solid timber so the profiles do not move after installation.
Two base versions. The difference is not only the colour — thermowood is timber treated with high heat and no chemicals.

The inside of a sauna is always left unvarnished — high temperatures do not tolerate it. The surfaces you touch therefore use timber with low thermal conductivity.
The shell can be painted in eleven shades at no extra cost, or left unpainted.

If you want to walk into an already hot sauna, remote control is the greatest convenience you can buy.
A chimney is part of the safety design, not an accessory. The type depends on where it runs and how the sauna is installed.
In terms of heat loss, glass is the weakest point of any sauna. That is why toughened safety glass is used and the lower edge of the glazing stays above bench level.
Doors are 6 mm toughened glass, front and panoramic glazing 8 mm. Both withstand thermal shock.

The size and position of the glazing decides whether you look out at the garden or at the neighbours.

The bench layout determines how many people the sauna actually serves and whether you can lie down in it. After installation this no longer changes.
Depending on the model, benches come single-tier or two-tier.
A sauna is most often used after dark, so light is not a detail.
Small things that are hard to add once the sauna is installed.
The most common cause of dissatisfaction is not a weak stove but poor ventilation. Without air exchange a sauna feels stifling even at the right temperature.
The aim is regular air exchange without a draught in the seating area.
Outdoor saunas use a gravity system: intake beneath the stove body and extraction in the opposite corner below the benches. Warm air then passes through the whole cabin instead of sitting under the ceiling. For installation inside a house, the sauna is connected to heat recovery through closable dampers.
This is the item most often left to the last minute — and it delays handover.
We deliver the sauna assembled, so access to the installation point matters as much as the base.
The base must be level and load-bearing — a compacted surface, paving or concrete footings are enough; a foundation slab is not required. We need to know the width of the access route and whether the site can be reached by crane or high-lift truck. For a sauna on a terrace, the load capacity of the structure also has to be checked.
